Description
Our client is a leading UK Privately owned Property company with significant commercial property assets including shopping centres, offices and industrial estates across the UK and Europe,based in the North West.

Role:
You will be responsible for delivery of all construction projects procured through FI Construction on time, to budget, safely and to the correct quality.
Initial construction projects will be focused on the FI New Build Industrial Portfolio. This consists of 9 projects (multiple units per project) in the North West, North Wales and the Midlands regions, amounting to circa 1.3mft2 NDA. There is a desire to expand the delivery capability of FI Construction into other aspects of the Groups delivery over time.
You will lead and coordinate pre-construction, construction, and post construction stages. You will work closely with the FI Management/Senior QS.
You will be responsible for procurement, selection and management of all FI Construction employees.
You will oversee selection of design teams and establishment of an FI Construction Supply Chain.
Health and safety issues will be a top priority in this role, as will ensuring best value solutions are delivered and continuous improvement of delivery.  The role will also involve ensuring the FI teams correctly negotiate and monitor sub-contractors, plan critical dates and organise labour effectively.
You would also be responsible for agreeing extra work to be done on a contract, interface with pre let enquires, helping to resolve any disputes which come up and identify areas for improvement in the FI Construction delivery process.

Responsibilities for this role will include:
  • Performance management of FI Construction team, design teams and supply chain.
  • Ensure all projects are fully managed by staff and delivered on time, to budget, safely and to the correct quality and compliance.
  • Commercial forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to Head of Development and Construction.
  • Programme forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to Head of Development and Construction.
  • Specific prelim forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to Head of Development and Construction.
  • Identification, monitoring, management, and mitigation of key risks.
  • Identification, monitoring, management, and implementation of key opportunities.
  • Assist in the final account applications.
  • Review of processes to improve where necessary and remove wastage and improve profitability.
  • Oversight of Health & Safety.
  • Oversee compliance is being completed including quality.
  • Appropriate CDM 2015 compliance.
For this role you will need to:
  • Demonstrate operational management experience and commercial awareness.
  • Have experience in managing construction/industrial projects from inception to completion.
  • Management of Design teams.
  • Experience in managing site teams, trades staff & sub-contractors.
  • Cost management and best value solutions.
  • JCT contracts and supply chain orders. 
  • Good and effective communication skills.
  • Good analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Possess good leadership ability, as well as ability to work as part of a team as well as leading teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications.
  • Ability to be proactive and foresee events and react appropriately towards them.
  • The ability to multitask in different situations.
  • Ability to work and carry out projects within a stipulated time frame or deadline.
  • At least 10 years on-the-job experience in a similar role or in any other construction capacity essential
